This guide explains how Gutenberg behaves. If you want a shorter task-based walkthrough, start in the How-To Guides.

Common Tasks

Reference Guides

  • Courses for self-paced learning, enrolment, active course selection, and grouped course editing.
  • Events for scheduled teaching, cohort delivery, enrolment keys, and event editing.
  • Learning Context for how active course/event state changes the sidebar and material pages.
  • Material Navigation for previous/next links, course-aware navigation, and return-to-course behavior.
  • Admin: Default Courses for syncing curated course defaults into the database.

Courses, events, and material pages

Gutenberg is no longer just an event-management wrapper around material pages:

  • Courses provide reusable, grouped, self-paced learning paths.
  • Events provide dated teaching deliveries, optionally created from a course blueprint.
  • Material pages can now reflect the learner’s active course or event and show context-aware hints and navigation.

If you are new to the platform, read the Courses and Events pages first, then the Learning Context page.
